ABOUT US

DEDICATED TO EXCELLENCE

Shaping the minds of our next generation is at the forefront of everything we do at Blyth Academy Burlington. With students grades five to twelve, and small class sizes that offer personalized learning environments, we create a unique opportunity for young minds to reach their fullest potential.

We deliver the curriculum set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education, but what sets us apart is our ability to tailor education to the individual student, not the other way around. Our carefully curated personalized structure allows our guidance teams and teachers to take into account each student’s learning style as well as their extracurricular commitments when customizing an academic plan unique to them.

Students Grades 9 to 12 follow a two-semester, four term schedule, with only two subjects per term. We also offer the added benefit of earning credits at their own pace through Blyth Academy Online. This dynamic restructuring of the traditional academic school year provides flexibility in ours students academic schedules and allows for students to participate in our Advanced Hockey and Baseball training programs.

Our athletes are in the classroom from 8:30am to 1:00pm Monday to Friday. At 1:00pm we pick our students up at the school in our shuttle busses and bring our hockey players to the Wave Twin Rinks and baseball players to Fieldhouse Athletics. Our students train on-ice and on the field five days per week from 1:30pm to 2:30pm doing individual skill development. When they are finished their specific sports training they do their high performance training in our state of the art performance gyms located inside our facilities. Our athletes are finished at 4:00pm every day and you pick your student up at the Wave Twin Rinks at that time.

Blyth Academy students are proud members of the Globeducate, which is recognized worldwide as a leader in private education.

ADMISSION PROCESS

Blyth Academy’s/Blyth Athletics application process consists of five easy steps towards enrolment.

Congratulations, you are currently accomplishing the first step: visiting our website. From here you will learn about our educational philosophy, and can review the campus team, facilities, and amenities. When you are ready to find out more about us, you can proceed to Step 2.

The best way to answer your questions is face-to-face. Each campus holds an information session every month. Information sessions provide an in-depth look at Blyth Academy and are a great opportunity to meet with staff members, the Principals and the Guidance Counsellors. To RSVP to the session of your choice, please click here.

If you are unable to attend an information session, you can call our knowledgeable Admissions Advisors at 416-960-3552 Ext 251 or email mlewitski@wavesports.ca or email Blyth Academy.
They will be able to answer all of your questions and schedule an interview with the Principal.

When you are ready to enroll your student, the next step is an admissions interview with the Principal.

This one-hour interview is an opportunity for our Principals to explore the student’s academic needs, interests, and goals to determine how Blyth Academy can work for him or her. We encourage families to attend the interview with the student. To schedule an interview, please call 416-960-3552 Ext 251 or email mlewitski@wavesports.ca or email Principal: Blyth Academy . You are advised to bring the following documentation for your interview:

  • Ontario Student Transcript containing information from the past 12 months. If one is not available, please bring a Credit Counseling Summary or a student’s most recent report card.
  • IEP (Individual Education Plan) if your child has one

After your admissions interview, you can complete your registration either through our online registration system, or by dropping a paper copy of the registration form at the campus of your choice.

Besides being affordable, Blyth Academy also offers parents a choice of payment plans. Simply pay fees according to the plan that meets your requirements. Please visit our Fees section to find out more.

After registration, you will receive an email confirming your enrolment and welcoming you to Blyth Academy. This email will include all of the details you will need to prepare for your first day.

The final step in the admissions process occurs when students meet with the Guidance Counsellor of their campus to complete course selection for the upcoming academic year. You can schedule this meeting any point after Registration and before your first day. Select your courses early to ensure your choices are available.

That’s it! Welcome to Blyth Academy.
